Replacing a Fire Surround without removing your existing Back Panel and Hearth –
To make fitting easier for you I will need to know the rebate size. The rebate is the distance from the wall to the face of any marble or back panel fitted to the wall. If you are unsure or your existing fire surround is still fitted then give me a call and I will explain how best to obtain the rebate size.

Add a truly unique, antique style to your fireplace. The air dried oak we use to make your rustic oak fire surround has been weathered over a number of years to bring you this stunning spectacle of natural character and beauty. Each waney edge has been hand crafted in our own Birmingham based workshop by one of our skilled craftsmen, and finished in luxurious Danish oil.
We assure you that all of our rustic oak fire surrounds and fireplaces are hand made in our own British workshops. Should you have any questions we will be more than happy to help you and provide friendly advice if you call or send us an e-mail. If you have a peculiar space or want an oak fire surround or fireplace to particular measures, all of our products can be made to measure. Don’t forget that you don’t have to make a payment until we deliver your oak beam fire surround or fireplace!

Order and Delivery

Delivered by our own drivers, your new fireplace will be carefully carried and placed in the room of your choice. Based in the Midlands we provide free of charge delivery to most parts of mainland UK.
As all of our products are made to order please allow up to 3 weeks for delivery (4 weeks for Scotland). We also offer an express service on some of our more common products, these products will be wrapped well and send via a trusted carrier within 3 working days.
As there is nothing to pay until your items are delivered ordering is easy, you can either order online and pay in advance or select the pay on delivery option. Alternatively just email or phone us with the items you want, your name, a delivery address and contact number. We will then confirm your order. One of our staff will then contact you when your order is ready to arrange a date and a two hour time slot for delivery.
Payment can be made on delivery by cheque, cash, BACS (internet banking) or any of the major card brands.

Natural Beeswax
Our Natural Beeswax finish is our lightest finish, achieved by giving the oak two layers of natural beeswax, it leaves a silk finish and is closest to the raw oak possible.
Light Oiled Oak
Our Light Oiled Oak finish is achieved with two layers of natural danish oil, it leaves a slightly rustic matt finish and looks perfect with the oak.

Antique Beeswax
Our Antique Beeswax finish is achieved with a light oak stain and two coats of coloured beeswax, it leaves a slightly shined finish and looks stunning on the oak.

Medium Oiled Oak
Our Medium Oiled Oak finish is achieved with a coat of stain with two layers of natural danish oil, it leaves a slightly rustic matt finish.
Dark Oiled Oak
Our Dark Oiled Oak finish is achieved with a coat of dark stain then two layers of natural danish oil, it leaves a slightly rustic matt finish.
Black Oiled Oak
Our Black Oiled Oak finish is a beautiful contemporary addition to our colour range. To achieve this colour we start with a coat of black oak stain then we apply a finishing layer of black wax.
Limed Oak
Our Limed Oak finish is achieved by using a wire brush to raise the grain of the oak, a coat of liming paste is rubbed in and wiped off. Finally we finish off with two coats of beeswax.
Please Note Due to the time-consuming process of liming an oak product, we apply a small surcharge of £15 for an Oak Beam and £30 for a Oak Fireplace.
Installation
All of our oak products are supplied with simple, hidden fixing brackets free of charge.
DIY FIXINGS
All of our oak products can be fitted easily either by a competent DIY'er or one of our trusted and recommended installers.

The fixings we supply are completely free of charge!
INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED
All of our oak products will have comprehensive installation instructions upon delivery and we're always on hand for advice!

Here we aim to answer any questions you may have about this product or other similar products.How long will delivery take?
We work on an average of 2 weeks for deliveries to England and Wales, and 4 weeks to deliveries to Scotland. (A lot of the time it can be quicker if we have a run scheduled in your area, so give us a call if you need something quicker!) We also have a express delivery service available on certain products, they will be delivered within 3 working days.
Do you do Colour Samples?
We can send out small samples of any of our oak colours so you can compare them. If you send us an email on mick@oakfiresurrounds.co.ukf or call on 0121 773 8833, we'll take your address and send you some in the post!
Can I order a bespoke size?
All of our surrounds are completely bespoke, we can manufacture any product to any size. If you'd like something a little made to measure, send us an email on mick@oakfiresurrounds.co.uk or call us on 0121 773 8833 and we will be able to help you.
What's a Rebate?
'The Rebate' refers to how far any existing backing is coming away from the wall. For example, if you have a stove on a flat wall, you have No Rebate. On the other hand, if you have an existing marble back panel that protrudes the wall by 1", you require a 1" Rebate.

Delivery to Mainland UK adresses are completely free of charge with our own delivery drivers.

We maintain our high quality standards by using only the best when it comes to materials. We use only the finest hand picked FSC certified European Kiln Dried oak for our kiln dried oak fire surrounds and mantel shelves and Stunning European air dried oak for our Rustic Oak Fire Surrounds and Rustic Oak Mantel Shelves.
